Survey: Findings



- More than half (57%) of the respondents bought their first bunnies without knowing how to take care of them

- Almost a quarter (24.1%) of the respondents own one bunny

- 39% bought at least one rabbit from either a pet store or a breeder

- More than half (55.1%) adopted at least one rabbit

- 3 out of 58 owners had litters

- 77.5% had at least one rabbit de-sexed

- 81% had at least one rabbit vaccinated for the newest strain (RVHD2)

- 7 out of 58 respondents either got rabbits from a friend / private sale

- 36 out of 58 respondents free-range their rabbits

- A number of people agreed that rabbits are misunderstood animals

- 32 out of 58 respondents adopted at least one rabbit

- 6 out of 58 respondents found a stray rabbit and kept them

- 4 out of 58 respondents stepped-up to rescue a neglected rabbit

- 8 out of 58 respondents bought at least one from a breeder
